Why it matters
The only thing stopping someone from helping is sometimes a pair of gloves.
Not everyone owns a good pair of work gloves. Not everyone thinks to bring some. And it's exactly that kind of small, dumb friction that quietly keeps people from showing up at all.
So we took it off the table.
What's in the box
Nothing fancy. Just ready.
Small hands, big hands, kids tagging along — nobody digs through a garage or shows up empty-handed.
Used, washed, returned. The same pairs keep serving gathering after gathering, volunteer after volunteer.
Show up enough, and you get a marked pair of your own — no more borrowing.
Where it started
Ian seeded the first gloves out of his own garage.
No grant, no planning meeting — just a box, some gloves, and a decision to remove one small barrier before asking anyone to show up. Your gift restocks and expands it: more sizes, more durable pairs for heavier brush work, enough volume that the box never runs dry as Second Saturday grows.
It's one of those quiet, high-leverage gifts: gear that gets used over and over by the people who actually show up.
